Chain Replacement
Replacement chain was too long and needed 2 links removed. After running around to find a 'chain breaker' I needed a master-link to complete the fix. It would have been faster and easier if Powertow would have included the master link in the original packaging, and saved phone calls and overnight delivery fees. It turns out that the chain is a standard #41 and master links are $1.80 at my local hardware store. I've now repaired the old chain as a back-up! Powertow products are still the best, but maintenance isn't easy!

Q:
How tightly should the chain be adjusted? My chain frequently slips off the sprockets when I engage the clutch. Thanks.

A:
You should have about an 1/8" - 1/4" of up and down movement when the chain is adjusted properly. If it keeps falling off check sprocket alignment between the transmission and drive sprocket.
