The ThunderVolt is easy for one person to maneuver aircraft quickly and safely in tightly stacked hangars or staging on the ramp.

The ThunderVolt steps up from the 40EZ as an electric driven unit, an onboard deep cycle AGM battery, onboard charger/maintainer, and a LED light.

Operation is EZ allowing the user to grasp or release an aircraft, manage drive traction, speed moderation and directional control without moving away from the handle.

AIRCRAFT – Ideal for singles and light twins (6,000 lbs. and below) - Bonanza, Baron, Cessna 150-337, Seneca, Cherokee, Lance, Saratoga, Twin Comanche, Diamond, Mooney, Columbia, Scott style tail wheels and wheel pant aircraft.

SHIPPING - Ships via FedEx, assembled less handle. 120 lbs. Carton size 43 x 21 x 20 inches - Signature required at destination.

POWER PACKAGE- A maintenance free 1 HP constant velocity pump motor.

TRANSMISSION - Forward-Neutral-Reverse - The QuickSilver 3500 requires virtually no maintenance and is MADE IN THE USA in house in our PowerTow factory.

TIRE SPECS - 13 x 6.50 x 6 generous drive tire with extra deep tread, provides smooth maneuverability through tight transitions or over door tracks.

HEAD LIGHT - Now features an LED light for night operations.

ThunderVolt 12 Volt DC Aircraft Tug

I bought this wanting an electric cordless solution and not having to worry about maintaining a gas engine and long-term issues of old gasoline. It works really well, has plenty of power for a Baron, locks onto the wheel really well and is extremely easy to plug-in and leave on charge. I like the no-maintenance, no fuel, always ready answer to moving my aircraft.

For A Mooney

Assembly is fairly straightforward and easier with two people. There is a real learning curve and over a few weeks adjustments to the Mooney adaptor and cables to move airplane have helped. There is enough power to easily move the Mooney. It is tricky at first as the airplane tends to jack knife and lifting the tow in the right direction must be practiced. The tow is well built and charging is easy. With practice it will get easier. I am having screwed in chocks installed to be sure plane does not get pushed in too far. takes practice but a good buy.

Electric Powertow Review

I purchased an electric Powertow tug to move both a Cirrus SR22 and a Nanchang CJ6. I had purchased two other rugs for use with the Cirrus but was dissatisfied with both. I was reluctant to pay for the electric Powertow due to the cost, but it truly is the easiest tug to use on the market today. After using it for about a month now I am convinced that it is the best tug on the available for the Cirrus. It has a ton of power and is quiet. Just plug it in between uses and it’s always ready to use. The assembly was not particularly difficult for even me who have almost no mechanical skill. I did it alone in about 90 minutes. I highly recommend this tug to anyone. Once you get over the sticker shock you will be very happy.

Cessna 182 owner

I am not exaggerating when I describe this tug as life changing for me. I'm 5'2" and 130 lbs with an almost 3000 lb plane to haul around. Getting in and out of the hangar has almost always depended on having someone help me. I can now do it alone with the Thundervolt. It was a sizable investment, and I wish I had made it sooner. Excellent product, heavy, stable, and well made. Great customer service. Definitely watch the YouTube videos regarding assembly BEFORE you start unboxing. It makes a huge difference. My husband and I had a fun evening putting this together in the living room before taking it to the airport.

Just received and assembled. Seems to work fine. Assembly instructions need improvement. The written instructions were vague and confusing at times. The assembly videos were a great help.
